As part of your care with Dr Lisa Begg, Dr Maryam Ebrahimi and Dr Karen Williamson you will have support from our practice midwives Mandy, Nicola and Lou.

Throughout your pregnancy you will have the opportunity to meet with the midwives several times to discuss a variety of topics including your birth preferences, maternal mental health and antenatal education.

Available to answer any questions or concerns you may have during clinic hours, Mandy, Nicola and Lou offer a personalised care approach in collaboration with the doctors to ensure your safety and enhance your pregnancy experience. The midwives are also available to perform CTG monitoring, administer Anti D and perform blood tests.

We recognise that the postnatal period can be an exciting but challenging time for families therefore after you have gone home from the hospital Mandy, Nicola or Lou will give you a call to discuss any concerns you may have for you or your baby. They can then support you and make appropriate referrals in consultation with your obstetrician.

Our midwives have a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience.

Mandy

Mandy has extensive experience having worked in the Epworth Freemasons Birth Suite since it first opened. She now enjoys using that knowledge to support and educate our patients and their families, especially during the antenatal period.

Lou

Lou has been a registered midwife and nurse for ten years and loves the variety of caring for patients across the pregnancy, birth and postpartum continuum. Pregnancy care is a special area of interest for Lou as she loves supporting women and families through the pregnancy journey and ensuring they feel prepared and empowered to take on their new parenting role.
