As part of your care with Dr Lisa Begg and Dr Karen Williamson you will have support from our practice midwives Mandy and Nicola.
Throughout your pregnancy you will have the opportunity to meet with the midwives several times to discuss a variety of topics including your birth preferences, maternal mental health and antenatal education.
Available to answer any questions or concerns you may have during clinic hours, Mandy and Nicola offer a personalised care approach in collaboration with the doctors to ensure your safety and enhance your pregnancy experience. The midwives are also available to perform CTG monitoring, administer Anti D and perform blood tests.
We recognise that the postnatal period can be an exciting but challenging time for families therefore after you have gone home from the hospital Mandy or Nicola will give you a call to discuss any concerns you may have for you or your baby. They can then support you and make appropriate referrals in consultation with your obstetrician.
Both midwives have a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience.
Mandy has extensive experience having worked in the Epworth Freemasons Birth Suite since it first opened. She now enjoys using that knowledge to support and educate our patients and their families, especially during the antenatal period.
Nicola has worked over the continuum of maternity care and taken a special interest in supporting family’s transition to life with a newborn. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant she is available for consults both antenatally and postnatally to help support you in your feeding journey.
Our specialists are supported by an experienced, warm and friendly administration team dedicated to providing you with the highest level of patient care. Our team is available Monday to Friday to answer your questions and ensure your pregnancy cares runs smoothly and efficiently.
